Susie N.Y. luster collection, #51 Shine of Ice

How's everyone been doing? I haven't been feeling super good lately, I've been having terrible insomnia. I can't get to sleep until 6-7am lately, 5am on good days, even with a sleep aid. Why haven't I gone to the doctor yet you ask? Well I had an appointment last Saturday, but I couldn't make it as they close around 12pm on Saturdays. Sure, like I can make it to a doctors office before 12pm when I only got to sleep around 7. Oh beautiful irony.

So, since I've been feeling lousy lately, Yoshi picked me up two polishes to try to cheer me up. One of them was this one by Susie N.Y. A beautiful light blue micro glitter with bigger green iridescent glitter from the Japanese brand's luster collection, which has a foil look. Extremely hard to take without the shine!

An Unlikely Last-Minute Unique Combo!!

I haven't been this excited about swatches in a while, hence my lack of posting lately. Boredom, and a bad manicure @ a salon today, and I was ready for something new. I decided to give one of my new Zoya swatches a shot today - Yara. It's a gorgeous color! A deep olive green with yellow sparkles in it. I love it but I still felt it was just a bit dull. Needs something brighter. I topped it off with a new NYX swatch I received from the Hautelook NYX sale a few weeks ago. It's a flakie polish called Pink Avenue - which isn't all that pink, actually. It's clear with gold/green/yellow flakes in it. I don't see pink, but maybe it might show up in the daylight.

It really made for a beautiful combination! I imagine this NYX color would light up just about any color. If you can get your hands on this (where do they sell NYX, anyway? I don't think I've ever seen it in stores) I definitely recommend grabbing a bottle.

Back on the subject of Hautelook...here is the set of 4 NYX polished I received. I am in love with them all! I'm quite impressed with the uniqueness of their colors.

Chanel Black Pearl

Hi everyone!
Unfortunately, I didn't get to wear the Japanese 3D nails last time..
I was going to wear them to my friend Yapa's going away party/Akiko and Jaci's birthday party, but there was a LOT going on that day, and I accidentally forgot them at home. Next party, I promise!

This time, I'm going to post something special, my first high end polish!. It was a little treat to myself at the duty-free. A beautiful slightly shimmery pearly dark turquoise. I must have good taste, because a few weeks after I bought this, Erika told me (and showed me) that it was featured in an article as being the "it" color of the season in NY. ::awesome:: taste- I haz it hehe

Thanks for reading :)

Can we pretend it's Wednesday?

So I wanted to post yesterday for "On weds we wear pink!" but my wrist has been killing me( oh carpel, how I love you so..except not) so lets pretend ;)

This is Jillian from NYX. It was a perfect "Adios summer!" color. Not that it's going to stop me from rocking some brights in the fall. But now that fall is under way, I can say to my beautiful rich browns and reds Come to MAMA! I felt so weird wearing dark colors this summer, like it was against the law.
I added a top coat, also NYX called Sapphire. I don't know why it is called that because it's almost holo like. I took a few blurry shots to show. But on the website for NYX, it looks silver. Herm. I love you online shopping, but this is the reasons that it can be a pain in the ass, crap stock photos!
Look at that sparkle!

Speaking of hologram loveliness... I did this manicure a few weeks ago, and completely forgot to post pics. Its of Nfu Oh #61. This color always sells out fast on Fabulousstreet.com so when Julie saw it online, she grabbed it for me. (Mucho Gracias for that, Julie!) I think you can get a bottle now, but be fast, it sells out fast! But that's it for me!

Almost forgot about this!

Well today is Wednesday, and you know what that means...on this day, we wear pink! Polish that is!

It is one of my favorite zoya's from their Sparkle collection that came out last year, Alegra.
Although Zoya says it belongs in the purple family... it looks a lot more pink than purple! They even describe as fuschia. Oh Zoya..

Speaking of, I just added two more zoya's to my ever growing collection. When zoya had their promo for 2 free polishes, I jumped! I decided to get two colors from their new collections. One from their Touch collection, Pandora. I have been wanting a flesh colored nail polish that doesn't take 7 coats to actually get the color. (I'm looking at you, Essie Mademoiselle) I def. want to make this a french manicure color. I think it would also look amazing on toes! Ahh.. the possibilities.

And from their Smoke and Mirrors collection, Nimue.
I shockingly do not own a purple like this! It is such a soft and calm purple. Most of my purples are either a light lilac, or a screaming glittery plum. I def. am making this my next manicure color.

The West Memphis Three Are FREED!!! A New Car, And A New Swatch!

*If you have an opposition to the West Memphis 3, I ask only that you first educate yourself on this case before posting controversial comments. Visit http://www.wm3.org to learn about them.*

Hi everyone! I am sorry I've been mia - I have a heaping pile of issues going on in my life right now regarding fertility, my health, and my future. Needless to say, it hasn't been all shits n' giggles for me. I will fill you all in soon, and I promise some awesome swatches are to come.

But right now I want to focus my attention on the fact that the WEST MEMPHIS THREE are finally home! I am so happy, despite the lame Alford plea, that they will be able to continue their lives...18 years later...outside of jail. The case will continue investigating, and hopefully the DNA evidence can point investigators in the right direction. (ahem...TERRY HOBBS)

I have been a WM3 supporter for over 15 years. I have poured my heart and soul into spreading awareness of their case, and I am pretty sure I was able to get a lot of friends on board as well.

I threw together a few designs this morning, and posted them on Zazzle for sale. Please pass along the designs, as I will donate all money received from my sales to WM3.org so that they may continue the investigation. It is imperative that we find justice for the 3 boys who were murdered, and clear Damien, Jason, and Jessie's names for good.

I'm going to link the designs below here, but I am going to make them available in ALL shirt types, so please visit my Zazzle Shop for all designs, and designs to come.

so to report some more happy news, my 30th birthday just passed (that's not the happy news!) and I got an amazing new camera for better photos that I haven't been able to fully test out yet. It's the Canon EOS 69D, digital SLR. What a fantastic camera!!

And, I got a new JEEP! Not for my birthday though, but because my JEEP is ready to be laid to rest. 130k miles, yes, it's time!

My new Jeep, a Wrangler Unlimited Mojave Ed.

Oh, you were expecting some nail polish, right?? Here is my current swatch, a very coveted and beautiful swatch by OPI Sephora - Midnight Mambo. Excuse my peely fingers.

Models Own Orange Sherbet swatch

Hi everyone! Unfortunately my nails are still short, so I am still doing swatches for the time being.
I bought this polish and a few others about two months ago from Kitten Nails' blog, and I have to say, for an orange nail polish, this color is amazing! It is a neon pearl, if that makes any sense. It is a pearly color with neon vibrance, it definitely stands out. However, this is a neon for neon haters, (especially for neon orange haters!)the pearl gives it a pretty, soft edge. It really is the color of orange sherbet, like having it on your fingertips. This is my first Models Own polish, but I definitely will be buying more!
I will be putting on these awesome Japanese 3D false nails for a party tomorrow (Erika remembers these, she was with me last year when I bought them in Tokyo). I will try to get a good picture of them!
