My most favorite nail art post!

I can't believe its been like 3 years since I did this! Man time flies when you are painting your nails way too much. I always want to redo this one and maybe since spring has finally sprung, I can give it another go.

I really had a fun time with this one, it was really simple but yielded professional looks. If anyone wants me to do a quick tutorial, please comment and let me know. Maybe try with different colors?

Just playing around

Before I show my current manicure, I have to tell our readers that Renee is going through something extremely personal right now. She will be back soon posting as soon as she can, she would love a few hugs though!

I've been in a polish funk and with my best friend going through something painful it is hard to be creative and colorful, but this morning ( I woke up at 5am!!!) I decided to try something like this:
http://pinterest.com/pin/191684527859943684/

Of course it looked nothing like it! But hey it was super early, so give me a break, ha ha. But here are the results:
The base black color is Zoya Raven, which is the most opaque black I have ever used! One coat. Done! I will add the other colors, but mostly I used silver, pink glitter detailing polishes and Zoya Keiko. Over all, a fun look, just what I needed! Tata for now!

Nail Art!

Remember when I did that flower nail art a few months back? This one. Well I thought, " hey let me try out that fall version that I was talking about at the end of the post. I didn't quite turn out the way I was imagining. I tried something different and I like!

FLASH!

I used a brand called Fresh Paint, which the only store I have seen it in is a store called Five Below.  Ive only been there once, but I fell in love! It had the best selection and I also found Funky Fingers! The color is a really pretty beige with hints of brown and pink and the drying time was under a minute! The I used Burgundy from Revlon. I wanted to use Lincoln Park after Dark, but it was too dark. The for the gold, I used Rochelle from Zoya, it's a beautiful gold! It also looks much more copperish in the bottle. And for the last part, just small dots of pink glitter nail art polish from Kiss.

But when I was finished.. it just felt off. It also almost had a cheetah/leopard look to it, which isn't a bad thing per say, I just wasn't going for that look! I grabbed Nubar 2010, and ta da, flaky goodness:)
When in doubt, go flaky;)

Okay, enough from me, back to work!

Butterfly flitter away!

I'm sure a lot of you read Emily nail files, a few months ago she posted this adorable bumble bee nail art. I loved it, and knew I had to recreate it but give it my own spin.
I don't know if any one has realized this, but I am bat shit crazy about butterflies. If I could change my name to Butterfly I would (Okay I wouldn't but that is only because I like my name..also one of my favorite singers is Butterfly Boucher, We even have the same bday, June 2nd). I used a Frankenstein color that I made, a bright shimmery baby blue for the background (curse you background for sucking all the color out) milani neon purple, and various nail art polishes.
This was a little more difficult to do, I took my time drawing the butterfly making sure it actually did indeed look like a butterfly.
I had to show a picture of the thumb. How hot is my flower? Modesty, that's me to a T.  I finally managed also to find two more of the Revlon's super glitters. One for Renee and the blue one(Blue Mosaic) that was shoved all the way in the back.. No smokey canvas though! boohiss.

I am going to try and post some pics of blue mosaic for my next blog, but ta-ta for now!

Nail art post!

I did this design a few weeks ago, about two. It really wasnt that hard, I thought it was going to be a nightmare! I saw this picture on Lauren Conrad and really liked it!

I didn't get it as detailed as I would have liked though! I used the beautiful minty green color from Dolly wink that I posted about a few blogs back, and used various pinks. If you want to know I will update with them!
click for a close up look!

There's that elusive thumb again;)
I loved how this came out, it took about 25 mins. I know it sounds like a lot, but I really thought it was going to be a lot more. I recommend a dotting tool and even a toothpick. You will be surprised how much detail you can do with a simple toothpick!
I think to go from spring/summer to winter/fall, you can do a burgundy/dark red background and make gold and white flowers. Or even a black background and then make gray/white flowers.

Indigo nails and viva la nails :)

As you can see from previous posts, i changed it up! I love love love this Barry M. The color just seems to glow! I mean, from one side it looks blue and then from another it's a purple!

Ive also discovered this freebie from Viva la nails, it's a blogger pack. I am impressed with this website so much! The selection is amazing! I also picked up a few other things from them, that I will blog about soon. Using the white butterfly and flower rhinestone sticker decals I placed three on each ring finger.

I wanted to use something that went well with the that gorgous buttery(is that a good word to use? )blue, and the white decals reminded me of the blue and white danish patterns that you see on a lot of china patterns. I was tempted to do all my nails but stopped at just the ring fingers. I also finally ordered my first Konad! I hopefully will get the gist of it, because my first attempt was so pathetic that I can not even talk about it, forget posting pics!

Speaking of new things, what do you guys think of the new April blog design, a special thanks to Julie for her skills:)
Also Emily's Nail Files is having a giveaway! Her very 1st! Here is what she is giving away(clink picture to enter):
Look..Models Own! Barry M!.. me wants!

Ok, well that's it for now!

New Polishes ☠Warning naked nails and crap cuticules!☠

But before I show you the new polishes that I got, avert your eyes if you have to...
I decided to give my nails(following Julie's example) a breather. I have to say it did feel nice, but by Thursday I was ready to get to polishing again!
Luckily the very same day, I received a package from ebay(coughevilbay) from a seller in NY. I purchased a few polishes( but had to stop myself!) I also wanted to use my ebay bucks before they expired! I got three colors that really caught my eyes!
I remember seeing these in Ulta a few years ago and for some reason I didn't get them. I think I may have been Christmas shopping and had the "Nothing for you, Erika.."mantra You know that little voice in the back of your head that never shuts up during the Christmas season? But now that I found it on ebay, I had to get it! It is so pretty in real life.
I had never heard of these polishes before.. I googled them, and holy rollers, these are amazing halo's! I got mystical mandarin. I am on the look out of the blue version (which names escapes me at the moment..)Blech those cuticles. I swear.

Fimo Butterflies For The Ring fingers! SO cute (Julie & Tammy)

I found these on eBay, came out to about $3.00 and they arrived the next day...no joke! I just ordered a bunch more. They're made from fimo clay. These are butterflies, but there are also fruit slices, hearts, stars, flowers, animals, etc. I got mine from a seller in NY, but it seems most are based out of Asia. So if you're in the US and are looking to get them sooner, try this link.

This is what Tammy did - a nice bright pink by OPI with a blue fimo butterfly-

And I did Indigo by Barry M, a blue/black butterfly, and a top coat of China Glaze Golden Enchantment

Here it is blurred so you can see the rainbow sparkles:

Oh and don't forget - there are only 4 days left to sign up for our Nfu Oh & Deborah Lippmann giveaway! So get on moving to that post and enter!!
