Purply cult nails goodness

It does seem a shame that I haven't posted in a bit, I AM working on it I promise. Another shame? That a few weeks ago my hands were all pretty with some Cult Nails goodness, and now my nails are a peeling mess. Working with my hands on the regular, plus moving into a new apartment, plus helping my friend/roommate AND her mom move as well has been hell on them. Not for lack of trying though, I've been coating my nails on the regular with Duri Rejuvacote. But the banging around has been a bit too much to take. But, this polish... this polish... I want to wear it all the time.

Cult Nails - My Kind of Kool Aid needs to live on my nails for the rest of my life. Now Cult nails has a consistent rotation of limited edition colors, that are all awesome. But this one is permanent, and I can see why. It's just so pretty and flattering, and flows onto the nails like silk. Even a klutz-o like myself can manage it.

This baby lasted on my nails with minor tip wear , even with the abuse given to them at the time. So, if you haven't joined the Cult yet you should get on their website TODAY because they have a kick ass sale going on. 40 % off Limited Edition colors with the code FLASH48, or 20% off sitewide with the code CELEBRATE. Plus purchases of 20 bucks gets you free shipping. You won't regret it man.

OPI Merry Midnight! I Love My Flakies!

Hola! Happy sunny afternoon. I have to say that I am in a pretty damn good mood today. I went to the health food store and got this nasty-ass "green" concoction which consisted of spinach, parsley, broccoli, and other greens in a smoothie form. While it tasted disgusting, it definitely gave me a super boost of energy! That aside, I thought I'd share my swatching OPI's Merry Midnight. I managed to snag this for $18 on eBay which was well worth the buy! Do you own this? What do you think of flake polishes?

For those of you who think spending $18 on nail polish is a joke (I feel ya) Cult Nails also has a wonderful pink flakie polish called Iconic that you can order from their site for $10 (along with their other amazing swatches- have you seen Living Water? WOW!) - and I feel it's more versatile than Merry Midnight, because it can be worn in the spring, summer, fall, winter etc....whereas I feel Merry Midnight is more of a Fall/Winter only polish. Here is Iconic from a prior post.

Oh, and before I forget - this is an older swatch I had done of Finger Paints brand black polish. I meant to rave about how it's probably the best black nail polish out there. I highly recommend it! Just 1 layer on top of a base coat and it's opaque. Great quality for $3.99. I also tested out my photoshop skills here - is it blatantly obvious that i photoshopped out my jagged cuticles?

Lastly, I noticed that Walgreens is now stock FULL of the gorgeous glittery Sinful Color swatches that had been becoming difficult to find. So hurry up and go grab them! This glitter is seriously the most amazing glitter polish I've yet to find. This one swatched below is called Nail Junkie.

Cult Nails - Up And Coming and AWESOME! (Julie)

*Tues Feb 15 -Just updating this post to say WOW! I got my Cult Nails Iconic yesterday and I am just in love!! It was everything I hoped and some more. The flakes are the perfect size and amount, it applies smooth, and I'm on the second day of wear (I chopped, I cooked, I worked!) and not even one chip yet. My only recommendation would be to just be sure you let each coat dry before you apply the next to prevent bubblies. I used 3 coats, and no top coat. Though I'm sure seche would help reflect the gold glimmer in this polish. It's just super. And now I think I need to get the other too!

Here are my swatches of Iconic - my application was messy, sorry!

Iconic in direct sunlight. Wow!

I stumbled upon a nail polish *franken genius while skimming blogs the other day, and it turns out that she has released her own line of nail polish called Cult Nails, and so far from what I've seen, the swatches are to die for!

I pre-ordered a bottle of Iconic - it's a deep rose cream with gold sparkles and flakes in it. So completely unique!! When I say I LOVE flake polishes, I mean it. And I feel like there's a whole other realm of possibilities that most nail polish companies (with the exception of Nfu Oh) really haven't explored yet. So my hopes are that this line by Cult Nails is uber successful, so that the creator, Maria Morrison can rock out the flake polishes and make me happy woman :) I see SO much potential in her ideas thus far!

What do you think?
